True is on track to become a zero-waste facility by 2027. True has changed almost all of it’s units to refrigerants like R290 which are natural, non-toxic and have no ozone-depleting properties. These refrigerants offer a significantly lower global warming potential compared to traditional HFCs, making them one of the most climate-friendly and cost-effective options available.
UL approved R290 canisters can be purchased through our consumer store at True Parts & Accessories | True Refrigeration Store. This UL certified refrigerant along with all the parts in the design of our units enhance the sustainability of True equipment. From gaskets that maintain energy-efficient seals to fan motors that optimize airflow, every replacement part helps preserve the energy-saving benefits built into our units.

Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the performance of our equipment. Units like the TUC-27-HC, STR2R-2S-HC, and GDM-49-HC deliver energy savings of up to 48%, thanks in part to the efficiency of hydrocarbon refrigerants and the quality of the components inside.

Sustainability at True goes beyond the products themselves. Our 23 solar arrays generate over 700,000 kilowatt hours of energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by 495 tons.
